BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
Biotechnology is the integrated use of biochemistry, microbiology and engineering sciences in order to achieve technological applications of the capabilities of microorganisms, cultured cells/tissues and parts thereof.
BIOLOGICAL ENGINEERING
Designs biomedical equipment and devices, such as artificial internal organs, replacements for body parts, and machines for diagnosing medical problems. Install, adjust, maintain, repair, or provide technical support for biomedical equipment.
COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY
Computational Biology, which includes many aspects of bioinformatics is the science of using biological data to develop algorithms or models to understanding biological systems and relationships. Until recently biologist did not have access to very large amounts of data.
CHEMICAL BIOLOGY
Chemical biology is a scientific discipline spanning the fields of chemistry and biology. The discipline involves the application of chemical techniques , analysis, and often small molecules produced through synthetic chemistry to the study & manipulation of biological systems.
